別所跡から階段を上り瀧尾神社に行ってみました！

実は東照宮ができる前の日光の中心的な神社の一つがこちらの別所跡に建っていました。
しかし、東照宮の完成と共に日光山の中心は瀧尾神社から東照宮へと移りました。
この場所はそんな昔、輝いていた神社の跡になります。

日光といえば東照宮というイメージがありますが、それは400年間の話です。
こちらは820年の創建なので、日光の中心として800年もの間、大活躍した神社になります。そんなに古くから存在していた神社が日光には、たくさんあります。
歴史を感じます。
さらに、こちらまで観光客が来ていることにはとても驚きました。
